I got 'Ratio'd' hard for critiquing Derek Carr. Are these Twitter randos supporting Kirk Cousins yet?
Not a single person liked my tweet, but within a couple hours of posting it at least 50 people liked a reply tweet.
I got completely “owned” by a sick ratio. Look.
I was pointing out the fact that the Las Vegas Raiders have not won a lot with Derek Carr at the helm. Carr is 57 - 70 as the starter.
It got me thinking, would the fake profile pics give Kirk Cousins the same courtesy?
Cousins is 61-62-2 in his career. But, has a winning record of 33-29-1 as the Vikings starter.
Carr has a QB Rating of 92.4 in the regular season and 69.2 in the playoffs. While Cousins has a rating of 98.6 in the regular season and 86.6 in the playoffs, he has a rating of 103.5 with the Vikings. So, safe to say Cousins performs better.
Yet, Cousins is one of the most trashed players in the league. Is it because it seems like faith guides his life? Well, the same could be said about Carr. Both men are devout Christians.
I think this reddit user summarizes people’s thoughts:
This user had an interesting take as well:
Maybe people view Carr as a leader but not Cousins? And, people want the quarterback to be a leader?
I can think of times when the quarterback wasn’t the leader of the locker room and they still reached the promise land; Flacco and Foles come to mind.
The Cousins hatred is a phenomenon. I’ll be the first to admit that he’s not the best quarterback in the NFL and he’s been to the playoffs three times as a starter and each time didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, or a NFC Championship even. But, he’s played better than Carr in the playoffs and has a marquee victory over the Saints in the Superdome.
Well anyways, if you have thoughts about why Kirk Cousins is so hated, shoot me a message. As for me, I now have been called an “alleged journalist” for the umpteenth time.
Harsh. Not like the Vikings had stellar defenses all those years. This was the final years of Mike “Mr. I coached the Cowboys secondary in the ‘90s, so you’d think I’d know how to develop corners” Zimmer.
I hope this tweet lives in infamy when it appears on the “Ratio’d” Goggle Chrome extension. I didn’t even get a single like. Long live the NFL.
